Saturday morning household delivery drivers

We are actively looking for volunteer pairs with a car to help deliver food parcels on a Saturday morning 9am to 11am. You wouldn’t be expected to do every Saturday morning, just those you feel you are able to do.

1.5 hours on a Saturday between 9 am and 11am:

  • Let the delivery team lead know of your availability on a weekly basis.
  • Arrive at Barnsgate between 9 to 9.30 am on your chosen Saturday morning.
  • Load into your car the household food supplies for 2 to 4 household deliveries.
  • Deliver to the allocated household in and around Crowborough.

Crowborough Foodbank Coordinator

10 to 14 hours per week:

  • Report to the charity’s trustees bi-annually or at such special meetings as the trustees may call.
  • Advise the trustees of exceptional events, such as complaints, safe guarding, major press contacts, accidents, external evaluations or risk to reputation etc.
  • Follow the direction of the Trustee Board and enact through the management team.
  • Point of contact with Trussell both regionally and nationally.
  • Undertake regular updates with the Crowborough Foodbank team leads through management meetings and ‘Chair’ these meetings.
  • Manage volunteer recruitment with volunteer coordinator.
  • Oversee and report on stock levels in and stock out to Management team, Trustees and Trussell.
  • Support the grants lead on grant applications, spend and grand body updates.
  • Provide the volunteer treasurer with details of payments and receipts, and supporting documents, to enable proper accounting and financial compliance.
  • Over see volunteer newsletter, social media and donation and grants thank yous.
  • Over see statutory compliance requirements across the Foodbank; Health and Safety, GDP, Financial.
  • Maintain and foster contact with local Crowborough networks, organisations and companies. (A volunteer deputy coordinator may be taken on to share the above responsibilities)

Warehouse maintenance lead

4 to 10 hours a month:

  • Visit Barnsgate warehouse on a monthly basis and visibly check for maintenance issues or respond to requests for maintenance. 
  • Report to project coordinator any concerns or needed work and request approval to undertake works and the spend.
  • Once approved, undertake repairs as needed by contacting appropriate repair companies. Support the project coordinator and warehouse volunteers in arranging contracts, start date and sign off of the works.
  • Arrange invoices to be sent to the Treasurer.
  • Arrange annual PAT testing.
  • Attend and update management meetings 4 times a year. (optional)

Administration support   

4 hours once a month:

  • Request and collate team reports from the management team and email out to all before the quarterly meeting. 
  • Share minutes with management team via email.
  • Attend management meetings and take, record and request approval of the meeting minutes.
  • Support the production of the quarterly volunteer newsletter.

Lidl empty box collection

1 hour a week:

  • Collection of small empty boxes from Lidls stores and drop off at Barnsgate warehouse.
  • Require a person to undertake Food Hygiene level 2 online.

Safe guarding lead

5 hours every 6 months as and when:

  • Undertake safe guarding training and maintain annual updating.
  • Be the first point of contact of any safeguarding reporting issue regarding our volunteer base, client household and organisation.
  • With the project coordinator and safeguarding deputy, follow the CFB Safeguarding Policy and pass to the Safeguarding Trustee.
  • Follow policy and record the safe guarding issue on the policy form. Save a digital and paper file.
  • Support the project coordinator in reporting safeguarding issues to the Trustees.
  • Attend and update management meetings 4 times a year. (optional)
