Families receiving foodbank boxes this week have an extra treat in store – fresh local apples.
A bumper box of the fruit has been donated by the Oast Farm Shop & Cafe at Buxted and has been split into bags to go to families in crisis receiving support this week.
Iain Luxford from the Crowborough Foodbank Management Team said: “We’re extremely grateful to Oast Farm. The food we provide for families has to be essential items that generally are long life due to storage. So it’s great that we can also provide fresh, tasty local apples. I’m sure the clients will love them.”
